Psilocybin Group Therapy in Denver, Colorado

Psychedelic community ceremonies have been the medicine path in many cultures, for millennia. And there is a reason why.

Why Does OUR HOUSE Work In Groups?

Psilocybin Therapy and Psychedelics in Community

At OUR HOUSE psilocybin assisted therapy is intentionally designed as a community healing process, from start to finish.

Co-founders and therapists Nikki Fall, LCSW and Camila Pastor, LCSW, SEP know that group formats elicit strong feelings and hesitation in many people. Their caring and supporting process focuses on helping fearful participants to find safety in community, form friendships and supportive bonds that last well beyond their programs. Their clients experience something unexpected and wonderful: the group is the unknown, secret healer in their healing journeys.

Nikki and Camila hope that everyone will have a communal mushroom (or other psychedelic) experience at least once in their lifetime, it's what is needed for true healing, to open up to others and to joy and life again. To see others as friends, not enemies. Don't dismiss psychedelic group experiences based on old fears. Experience for yourself that they are the true gateway to healing your heart. Always, no exceptions.

The reason why psychedelic groups are more powerful than individual healing, is because psychedelic community journeys enable us to experience others with an open heart, safely; maybe for the first time in our lives. And when we experience ourselves opening to others, what does that really mean? It means our inner dialogue is shifting from trauma and shutdown to embodied feelings of trust and safety. We are beginning to take down our walls and transform our old beliefs.

What licensed psychotherapist Camila and Nikki are saying is: Psychedelic groups are the nexus of emotional safety, love and healing. Who knew? Psilocybin group journeys help us get out of our shells, to take a look at the world through more compassionate eyes that have been wiped clean from pain and trauma. We don't erase all trauma, but we can see beyond and transform our sense of self and our vision of who we are, and who others really are.
And research confirms what the OUR HOUSE co-founders know: Psychedelic groups amplify the benefits of psychedelic therapy.

Facts: Why We Feel Safer When Working with Psychedelics in Groups

For those who are fearful of others, and many of us are because trauma is created in relationships, we want to help you understand why there is so much safety in psychedelic communities.

Research shows that listening is a powerful form of emotional regulation. When someone truly listens — with presence and warmth — their body sends cues of safety to the other person. That safety helps the nervous system relax.

This process is called co-regulation.

Human beings evolved not just to regulate ourselves, but to regulate each other. Journeying with experienced guides and in community, is actually co-regulating. We detect signals that we are in the presence of safe, available, and responsive human beings. This is the nature of psychedelic work. Psychedelics help us access warmth and compassion, not anger and separation from others. In a psychedelic community journey, and in our process surrounding the experience, you will be met with:

  • Warm facial expressions

  • Gentle eye contact

  • Attuned listening

When those cues are present, the body naturally shifts out of defense. If you don’t trust others to do that for you, that is fine - as  psychedelic facilitators and as therapists, we are trained in how to be present with you, and we build a group that is able to do it. In group work this is called building a cohesive container. It’s not an accidental side product, it is key to what we do. Everyone in the group will know how to show up for each other.

A baby stops crying when held by a caregiver.
An anxious person relaxes when a trusted friend listens.
A journeyer calms down when an attuned facilitator holds their hand and speaks softly and gently to remind them they are safe.
A group member feels safe and connected when other group members listen without judgment.  These are not psychological tricks. They are biological responses.

We learn to calm down with repeated experiences of being soothed, held, and responded to by others. Over time, those experiences become internalized as self-regulation. The memory of your group experience will continue giving and serving as new experiences for relational safety. Your group will be a healer, not just the mushrooms!

If there is one takeaway about psychedelic therapy and psychedelics in community, it might be this:

Healing is not about fixing what we feel is broken.

It is about creating conditions where our minds and bodies can return to their natural capacity for connection.

Our minds and biology support learning, growth, and healing! Psilocybin helps us open up our learned and conditioned fear responses to remember our natural resources, our natural, whole states.

In that sense, the path forward may be simpler than we think:

More listening.
More presence.
More connection.

With psilocybin in groups, we are able to create all 3 conditions. We can listen more deeply, we can be more present with ourselves, we can see ourselves and others through new eyes, with more connection.

In the end, the nervous system is always asking one fundamental question:

Am I safe enough to connect? Am I safe to love? And when the answer becomes yes, everything begins to change.

Ongoing Connection

OUR HOUSE is a place to find a healing community and a place to find ongoing support via monthly community integration circles.

No medicine session is offered without this surrounding support. Research shows that psychedelics have positive mental health benefits, when paired with support, preparation and integration.

All group cohorts are held in supportive WhatsApp groups that live on long after our program ends.
