Psilocybin Assisted Therapy in Lakewood, Colorado
Because true healing is a process, never just a single experience.
Mushroom Therapy in Lakewood and the Southwest Denver Metro Area
Most people in Lakewood and the surrounding southwest metro area who look into psilocybin therapy have followed the legalization process in their area, or know people who have tried psychedelics recreationally under the Colorado Natural Medicine Health Act (Proposition 122), in which adults 21 years and older may consume psilocybin privately.
Private usage differ vastly from legal psychedelic therapy, which has proven benefits for people who have taken medications for years, want to go deeper in their current talk therapy or for people who feel their are doing well, but want to let go of old pains and negative self talk. Simply put, psilocybin therapy is for everyone who is ready to let go of old trauma. Camila Pastor, LCSW, SEP and Nikki Fall, LCSW, co-founders at OUR HOUSE psychedelics in community are licensed psychotherapists, and Colorado Natural Medicine Clinical Facilitators offering safe, legal psilocybin therapy group retreat programs at a licensed Denver healing center, with educated answers to the fears and questions most people and their loved ones have before starting psilocybin assisted therapy.
Questions Lakewood Clients Ask Most
Is this legal?
Yes. Colorado's Natural Medicine Health Act allows licensed facilitators to provide psilocybin to adults twenty one and older at licensed healing centers. Dosing takes place at a licensed facility in Downtown Denver, a short drive from Lakewood.
How much is it?
Cost are $3500 for a six-week therapy program. OUR HOUSE is trying to make psychedelic care as affordable as possible, while staying committed to therapeutic efficacy and achieving mental health outcomes. Mental health outcomes are rarely addressed at other providers who typically offer short-term weekend retreats, with less preparation and integration.
The $3,500 fee reflects the entire therapeutic program, not only the medicine weekend. The free consultation is the place to get answers to evaluate this investment, without any pressure to commit before understanding how Nikki’s and Camila’s approach can help you.
Why do you call it a program and not a retreat?
Participants receive approximately 29 hours of clinician-led care, including preparation and integration with two licensed psychotherapists. Preparation includes screening, 1:1 treatment planning, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed preparation, intention setting, pre-journey support and post-journey integration, which research and clinical experience suggest are essential components of safe and effective psychedelic work.
In addition to in-person journey facilitation during the 3-day medicine weekend, with a low participant-to-facilitator ratio and a registered nurse, client receive therapy-led integration support for 3 weeks post their journeys. All participants can opt into two psilocybin journeys that meaningfully build on each other to help participants access their minds deeply and safely.
OUR HOUSE’s goal is to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care that prioritizes participant care, safety and long-term integration over simply providing a psychedelic experience. OUR HOUSE clients receive ongoing care during the program, which means individualized care that goes beyond what can be outlined in a simple program overview.
What is not included?
Clients will be provided with a list of accommodation options in walking distance or within a short ride-share drive. Nikki and Camila provide snacks after the journey and participants are responsible for providing their own meals outside if the dosing session. The healing center is located in Downtown Denver, a very short ride-share drive from Lakewood (you will not be able to drive yourself on dosing days).
Additionally, medicine is not included at this cost and client can expect to pay up to a $240 facility fee that will cover medicine for the two journeys. Each participant only pays for the individual amount consumed. (Costs are based on pricing of the strain OUR HOUSE works with and pricing may be subject to change depending on strain availability and market rate changes.)
How much time does the whole process take?
Preparation runs about three weeks, the in-person dosing weekend is three days from Friday afternoon through Sunday noon, and integration continues for roughly three weeks afterward. The detailed schedule can be found on the program page.
Is it safe if I have never done anything like this?
Most clients have never tried psychedelic therapy, especially not in groups. Even for those who take mushrooms recreationally in Colorado, the therapeutic experience is a special healing experience that does not resemble recreational use in the slightest. At least three expert support people are present throughout the dosing sessions, and the preparation weeks are designed thoughtfully to build readiness for those who have no experience at all. The OUR HOUSE process has been proven to work for all levels of experience. The preparation process is not redundant for those with a lot of psilocybin mushroom experience either, as preparation means preparing yourself for individual intentions, approaching your pain with support and tools ahead of your journey for better nervous system management on dosing days. Every participant will feel engaged, safe and ready, in time for the in-person weekend.
What if my partner is not on board?
OUR HOUSE has developed a FAQ PDF for partners and loved ones to help with the decision making process at home. Group work does not require a partner's participation, but Nikki and Camila have heard all of the concerns loved ones have and they are ready to help you answer them.
What if I want the medicine, but I don’t want to be in a group?
Being fearful amongst strangers is a common and understandable reaction. As humans in today’s culture we rarely have enough community and support to feel safe in relying on others. And most of us carry old relationship wounds with us that make us view others as unsafe. Many participants arrive to group preparation on Day 1 with hesitations around being amongst strangers - and then leave astonished at the end, realizing that the group was the unknown, secret healer in their individual process. Camila and Nikki have never seen this to be otherwise. So if you are experiencing cringy feelings in your body when hearing the word group, you are not alone. It is a common protective mechanism and the OUR HOUSE process helps everyone, even the most fearful participants, to arrive together in community, forming friendships and supportive bonds post program.
Should I do this individually or in a group?
The reason why psychedelic groups are the real star in psychedelic healing, is because they enable us to experience others with an open heart, safely; maybe for the first time in our lives. And when we can experience opening to others, we can begin to take down protective walls and transform our old beliefs. Psychedelic groups are not group therapy, you will meet love and acceptance, not judgment, shut-down, or criticism. And that is what our hearts and hurt inner children need to explore the world and connection again. Psychedelic groups are the nexus of emotional safety, love and healing.
Are psychedelics only for trauma victims?
Healing with psychedelics tends to help clients dealing with depression, chronic anxiety, or grief, even if clients have not fully responded to previous treatments. Working with psychedelics is for everyone who wants to work on themselves, from self-improvement to letting go of childhood wounds.
Can I come with my partber for Couples Psilocybin Therapy
Psilocybin work is wonderful for couples work and OUR HOUSE creates groups and programs for couples. If interested, contact Nikki and Camila and learn when the next Psilocybin Therapy For Couples program will take place to stop getting caught in the same arguments, or whether the next program is a good fit for you as partners. Couples do not need to stop their current couples psychotherapy work, a psilocybin journey integrates into existing processes and is able to boost the work done with current therapists.
IFS and Trauma Focused Work
Most psilocybin retreats are not equipped to treat clients who carry trauma and dysregulated nervous systems. As licensed psychotherapists and trauma experts, the OUR HOUSE preparation phase is designed to help all clients understand their nervous systems and hurt parts or childhood wounds through internal family systems (IFS), compassionate inquiry (CI) or relational psychoanalytic approaches. During psilocybin journeys, clients will have the necessary tools to self-regulate. OUR HOUSE works with a low client-to-therapist ratio and the therapists’ experiences can safely hold difficult emotions to help clients to re-regulate if needed. Nikki and Camila’s level of trauma expertise is what distinguishes them from many other facilitators or retreat leaders. Fit and safety is always ensured at the beginning of the process to ensure that OUR HOUSE participants are in a cohesive and safe group environment and that all clients are able to regulate.
What the Timeline Looks Like
Preparation begins after the free consultation, with a full intake and the Colorado-approved screening assessment. The preparation phase usually takes three sessions/weeks, which is spent workshopping goals and building nervous system tools for the journey ahead. Two journeys are facilitated over the course of a 3-day weekend at a licensed Denver healing center, with Nikki, Camila and additional support staff present throughout. Integration sessions follow for roughly three more weeks, which is where OUR HOUSE teaches integration tools for lasting change in real life. The scheduled has proven to be just the right amount of time to create safe journeys and healing, as reported by clients who have been through the process with no prior experience. For clients who want more integration and long-term support, OUR HOUSE offers monthky, donation based Community Integration Circles to continue on the healing path with support and guidance.
