Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS and psychedelic-assisted therapy are increasingly used together because they share a core philosophy: the belief in an inner healing intelligence. In IFS, this is called the Self—a state of calm, curiosity, and compassion that can heal wounded "parts" of the psyche once protective defenses are lowered.

This approach pairs especially well with psychedelic and ketamine-assisted therapy because these states can soften defenses and make parts more accessible. What might normally feel hidden or protected can emerge with greater clarity—allowing for deeper insight, unburdening, and lasting integration.
